Aloha and Welcome
Dr. Kaneshiro is a licensed clinical psychologist that provides mental healthcare to patients throughout Hawai’i and Nevada. He received his Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Born and raised in Hawai’i, his clinical training and areas of interest include serving the diverse mental health needs of Hawaii’s kamaʻāina communities living across the eight Hawaiian islands and Las Vegas--Hawaii's ninth island. In particular, this includes tailoring and adapting evidenced-based interventions within a local context that includes a consideration of the unique cultural variables of Hawaii.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kaneshiro is passionate about de-stigmatizing and ensuring high-quality mental health services for all, and to this end, has served in numerous state and national leadership positions, including as a committee member of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students’ (APAGS) Advocacy Coordinating Team, the APAGS representative on the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Committee of State Leaders, and the State Advocacy Coordinator on the Nevada Psychological Association’s (NPA) executive board. He has also engaged in several Capitol Hill visits with congressional members of the Nevada and Hawaii delegations to advocate for improved federal funding for mental health training, patient access, and research.
